On Sunday, June 9th, the choirs of La Jolla Presbyterian Church and Solana Beach Presbyterian Church will be joining forces to present, with chamber orchestra, two performances of “Let Us Sing Praise!”
4:00PM - Concert at Solana Beach Presbyterian Church
7:00PM - Concert at La Jolla Presbyterian Church
These concerts will feature movements from Dan Forrest’s beautiful setting of Psalm 100, Jubilate Deo--“O, be joyful in the Lord, all you lands!” With this idea in mind, the composer has set the different movements in various languages from around the world and with music and instruments that reflect the cultures represented. Along with Haydn’s Te Deum and a gospel song of praise, this concert includes a captivating soundscape of musical styles that will make your spirit soar. Te Deum is a Latin hymn to God the Father and Christ the Son, traditionally sung on occasions of public rejoicing. The hymn begins with the words “Te Deum laudamus” which means “God, We Praise You.”
