As we enter the season of Advent, we’re reminded that true hope is not wishful thinking but rather a deep trust rooted in God’s promise. God came to us in Jesus, and He will come again. In this in-between time, we wait, we long, and we live as people of hope.
Our Alternative Christmas Market is one way we live out that hope. Each gift offered reflects our desire to see God’s love made real in the world. These gifts support SBPC’s Mission Partner ministries and organizations that bring healing, justice, and compassion - all signs of God’s kingdom breaking through.
This season, let’s step away from the rush and give intentionally. Let’s remember that in Christ, we’ve already received the greatest gift, and from that abundance, we give to others.
We hope you’ll join us in this meaningful celebration.

WHAT IS THE ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS MARKET?
Standing above all the decorations and celebrations of the holidays is this simple message: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son.” Giving is the very heart of the Christmas story, and it is the heart of our market as well. Each gift makes an impact on real lives in our community and around the world through the ministries of our mission partners. You can donate a gift in someone’s honor as an alternative to buying material items as gifts during the holiday season. Card inserts explaining each mission partner are available to help you in presenting the gift to those on your list.
NEW THIS YEAR - at the MAIN MARKET!
Silent Auction: Handmade Quilts
Market-goers are in for a special treat! This year, we’re auctioning three stunning, handmade quilts crafted and generously donated by our very own sewing fellowship. Each quilt is a one-of-a-kind work of art, made with love and care. You’ll be able to see them in person the morning of the market and place your bids throughout the day.
Can’t make it to the market? No problem! You can still participate in the bidding. Just reach out to Lisa Owens at lisaowens@solanapres.org to place your bid.
