Weekly Prayer Focus—Service of Remembrance
Each year, on the Saturday near All Saints Day, we hold a Service of Remembrance where people reflect, pay tribute, and honor the cherished memories of those they have lost. This service will be next Saturday, November 2.
Extend a prayer…
- for those leading the service to be guided by the light of Holy Spirit;
- that those who have suffered the loss of a loved one at any time in their lives, feel the comforting arms of Jesus wrapped around them;
- that the heaviness of grief on our hearts be lightened through God’s mercy.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
