Weekly Prayer Focus–Music and Worship Ministry
Music is a gift of God and part of the created order. From its inception, “while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy” (Job 38:7), to its consummation, when “every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them” will sing to the Lamb on the throne (Rev. 5:13), creation is musical. “All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.”
We are fortunate to have talented musicians and singers in our congregation who willingly give of their time every week to lead us in lifting our hearts and voices to praise God. And what an amazing program we were treated to last Sunday. The Bible contains over 400 references to singing and 50 direct commands to sing. What a blessing it is to know we were following God’s wishes as we thoroughly enjoyed the concert last week.
Say a prayer…
- for our worship team and choir to seek the presence of God as they lead us in singing his praises, and that the next few weeks will bring them much deserved rest and renewal,
- that our hearts would change as we raise our voices, making a difference in how we live, developing a lifestyle of worship,
- for our congregation to continue to allow, invite, embrace music and song as a vehicle of the Holy Spirit.
