Weekly Prayer Focus – LENT

Lent is the period of 40 days which come before Easter, not counting Sundays. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, it’s a time of reflection, fasting, and preparation before we celebrate Easter. As Christians, we can try to replicate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days.
Let us pray that we:
- grow in our faith as we focus on Jesus.
- become more like Jesus every day.
- open our hearts to God’s refining grace.
“Even now” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning”. Joel 2:12
In the same way, the gospel is bearing fruit and growing throughout the whole world-just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace. Colossians 1:6
