Weekly Prayer Focus—Lent

Write by:

We are encouraged to offer prayers of lament as a way of emptying ourselves of ourselves: our pride, our sin, our sorrows, our frailty, and our grief. Our Weekly Lent Guided Reflection offers this model of lament found in the psalms.

Let us pray:

  • turning to God with confident praise
  • opening our hearts to God with honesty
  • asking God to intervene
  • lifting our voices in praise and worship.

Forgive my hidden faults. Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.  Psalm 19:12-13 (NIV)

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.  Psalm 19:14 (NIV)
