Supporting Our Community With our Giving
A portion of our offering today will be given to directly support some of the most vulnerable families in our community. We will work with North County Immigration and Citizenship Center, Kingdom Builder Foundation and Casa de Amistad.
At North County Immigration and Citizenship Center (NCICC) and Casa de Amistad, the vulnerable families we serve are experiencing devastating job loss and reduction in hours due to the COVID-19 “shelter in place” protocol. Our clients and students are telling us that they’re worried about paying their rent and utilities, providing computers, internet and educational supplies for their children; and they all are worried about running out of food. NCICC and Casa de Amistad are reaching out to these families (many who don’t have reliable internet) to check in on them. Together with Pastor Juan-Daniel Espitia from our Hispanic Fellowship, we’re helping them apply for unemployment and the benefits they’re eligible for, and contributing to groceries, rent, diapers and utilities to help them make it through this crisis and emerge with stronger community and spiritual support networks. As we work together in this time of tremendous uncertainty, join us in following Christ’s instruction to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and welcome the stranger in our land.
