Summer in the Psalms - Readings and Resources

Weekly Scripture Readings, Music Playlist, and other resources for your time alone with God

This Summer, we invite you to continue (or begin) personal spiritual practices by spending fifteen minutes a day with God in scripture, prayer, and solitude. Use this guide for your daily reading and enrich your time with recommended music and books.

  1. Listen to a song from the playlist.
  2. Read a scripture passage from this week’s selections
  3. Spend 3-5 minutes in silence
  4. Write down something that you sense God would want you to believe in or do today.

Weekly Scripture Readings

This playlist is designed to support and enhance your personal time with God. Some songs are based on psalms and others are inspired by the language in the psalms- honest and intimate lyrics of praise, thanksgiving, lament, abiding, hope, trust, and surrender. These songs speak truth about God and about who we are in him. God has always communicated his truth and grace through the music of composers and musicians and we believe God continues to do that in music today. You are encouraged to engage in these songs in a way that will connect your heart with God’s heart.

This playlist can also be a starting point for you, and we encourage you to create your own playlist of songs (on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube) that speak to you more personally of who God is and allow you to draw near to him as he draws near to you.
