Remembering Those We Have Lost
Each year we honor and remember members and friends in our congregation who have passed away. On the Saturday before All Saints Day, our Living Through Loss Ministry Team holds a Service of Remembrance. It is a wonderful time to reflect, pay tribute, and honor the cherished memories of family and friends that we have lost through the year. The Sunday before All Saints’ Day, we put an insert in our worship bulletin that lists members and friends in our congregation who have passed away. This year’s Service of Remembrance is this Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10:00 am in the chapel.
Please pray for our Living Through Loss Ministry team to be guided by the light of the Holy Spirit as they minister to members of our congregation who are grieving, and for those who are grieving, that they would find comfort and strength from Jesus.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Matthew 5:4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 119:50
