COVID-19 Drive-thru Donation Provides Much Needed Relief

Write by:

This past Saturday May 2nd, the CS365 team from Solana Beach Presbyterian Church helped organize a donation drive for twelve various non-profit organizations supporting our most vulnerable neighbors. Three church parking lots in Encinitas and Carmel Valley hosted more than 100 volunteers and accepted drop-off donations from 200 drive-thru vehicles, which filled up around 60 SUVs and pick-up trucks. It was truly a blessed experience seeing our community unite together in love during these uncertain times.

While still adhering to social distancing rules, four congregations and their friends worked collectively on Saturday: Solana Beach Presbyterian Church, Seacoast Community Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Grace Point Church in Carmel Valley. The donations received will be supporting AniMeals, Casa de Amistad, The CRC, Feeding All God’s Children, Helen Woodward Animal Center, Jewish Family and Community Services, Ladle Fellowship, San Diego Rescue Mission, and NCICC.

This project is one of Solana Beach Presbyterian Church’s 5000 Hands / CS365 Service While Sheltering programs.  We thank our individual donors and Kingdom Builders Foundation for supporting CS365.
