Year-End Giving—Letter from Pastor Mike

Year-End Giving—Letter from Pastor Mike

Write By:

Dear Church Family, At year end, we have the opportunity to reflect on what’s important to us and to respond with generous year end gifts. During Thanksgiving, I gave thanks for family, our church family, for Christ-centered leaders and for a congregation growing deeper spiritually. I’m thankful for the blessings of health and family. I’m thankful for the way God surprises us with his word, and for his faithfulness to always meet us in times of solitude and prayer; for small groups to share faith and life, for worship that inspires and......

December 11, 2019 Dear Church Family, We are writing to update you on our search for a new associate pastor and to ask for your help in suggesting names of members who can serve on a new nominating committee. Thank you for your patience, faith in God, and love for the church. At the September Congregational Meeting we received a report from the Associate Pastor Nominating Committee (APNC). After more than two years of a diligent nationwide search using the denominational call system and a search firm, we could not find a......

Weekly Prayer Focus–Music and Worship Ministry

Music is a gift of God and part of the created order. From its inception, “while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy” (Job 38:7), to its consummation, when “every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them” will sing to the Lamb on the throne (Rev. 5:13), creation is musical. “All nature sings and round me rings the music of the spheres.” We are fortunate to have talented musicians and singers in our congregation......

New Online Giving Provider

New Online Giving Provider

Write By:

We are transitioning to a new online giving provider this fall. Why? It better integrates with our church database and it will save us thousands of dollars every year. Regular online giving also helps keep admin. costs down and provides a more dependable income stream. We will be shutting down our old giving provider by January 1, so if you have recurring giving, please make the transition to our new provider by the end of 2019. Go to solanabeach.church/give to learn how to make the switch or to start giving online....

Join the party Border Ministries will throw for kids living in Rosarito. Pick up a plastic shoebox Sundays, Nov. 10 and Nov. 17 on the patio, fill it with suggested items, and return the box to the church patio on Sunday mornings, November 17 and 24. You can also simply drop off a new soccer ball, which will be given to an older child. Ginny's Sewing Ministry

Ginny’s Sewing Ministry

Write By:

For the past several years Solana Beach Presbyterian Church has had the distinct pleasure of being supported by a group of church members who demonstrate God’s love through their busy hands. This dynamic group is fondly known as Ginny’s Ministry and they have provided badly needed kitchen sets, quilts, and curtains for our mission partners all over the world. Victims of natural disasters, homeless immigrants, Come Build Hope and other relief organizations have benefited from their countless hours absorbed with their sewing machines, ironing boards and design easels. Their most recent project......

A Conversation on Immigration with Pastor Mike McClenahan For over three decades, Solana Beach Presbyterian Church has committed facilities, staff, volunteers and financial resources to partnering with our Hispanic community, As our commitments have grown to know and love our neighbors, serve our community, and address issues in our neighborhoods, we are engaged in one of the most important issues of our time: immigration. We posed some questions to Pastor Mike about his perspective on this issue and our church’s story. Why do we focus on this immigration when there are so......
